Born on August 21, 1988 Robert Lewandowski is a professional footballer who plays as a striker for the Polish national team and German side Bayern Munich.
Robert Lewandowski began his footballing career with Znicz Pruszków in the third and second tiers of Polish football. He then moved to Lech Poznań in 2008, becoming the top scorer in the League as they won the 2009–10 Ekstraklasa.
In 2010, Lewandowski joined Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga for a fee reported to be in the region of €4.5 million. During his time at the Signal Idunna Park, he established himself as one of the finest strikers in the game.
Prior to the start of the 2014–15 season, he agreed to join Dortmund’s domestic rivals, Bayern Munich, on a free transfer. In Munich, he has won the Bundesliga title in each of his first five seasons.
The Polish has scored over 200 goals in the Bundesliga, reaching the century mark quicker than any other foreign player, and is the league’s all-time leading foreign top scorer.
Lewandowski has earned over 110 caps for the Poland national team since his debut in 2008 and was a member of their team at Euro 2012, Euro 2016 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He is also the all-time top scorer for Polish national team with 61 goals.
The 31-year-old is renowned for his positioning, technique and finishing, and is widely regarded as one of the best strikers of his generation.
