Felix Kwakye Ofosu slams Southampton center-back Salisu and urge the GFA to discontinue their pursuit of the defender

Former deputy minister of communications Felix Kwakye Ofosu has disclosed Ghana Football Association must end their chase of defender Mohammed Salisu.

Kwakye Ofosu believes there are wide range of players who are capable of filling that void, and the technical handlers of the national team must shift their attention to them rather than Mohammed Salisu.

In a Facebook post the politician hit out at the Saint center-back. According to him, it only an honor for a player to be selected into the national team.

“As for Salisu, we should end the pursuit. Much better players than him have answered the national team call and played for the Black Stars.”

The Southampton defender according to reports turned down the chance to play for Ghana when invited.

Wide range of reasons have been attributed to Salisu’s decision. Among those, the dominant one is a supposed lack of support from GFA during his battle with FIFA.

The Black Stars are currently camping in Qatar ahead of the January African Cup of Nations. Ghana is very much determined to win the competition to end thier many years with a silverware.
