Former Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o gave a tricky response when questioned about how he felt playing with the Argentine
Samuel Eto’o reveals he did not play with Lionel Messi, when quizzed about how he felt during their playing time.
The ex Cameroon striker played alongside Messi after the latter made his debut. The Argentine marked his presence at the Camp Nou after Eto’o had already established himself at the club.
Barcelona signed Eto’o from Real Mallorca in 2004, after playing over 150 games for the latter with then manager Rijkaard sanctioning the deal.
During his days at Barcelona Samuel Eto’o formed a formidable partnership with Ronaldinho and Ludoric Guily.
Eto’o struck about 130 goals in 199 outings for Barcelona during his five-year stint in Spain.

In an interview when questioned about playing with Messi; “You talk about Messi, what can Ansu Fati learn from him? You obviously played with him.
In sharp response, Eto’o quickly said: “No. He played with me, it is different. Messi played with me. I did not play with Messi. In my time, Messi played with me. It is totally different. It is totally different.”
