The Belgian is set to wear No.9 shirt after completing his comeback to the Stamford Bridge
Chelsea have confirmed Romelu Lukaku will wear the No.9 shirt after agreeing a club record deal to bring back the Belgian to the Stamford Bridge.
Romelu Lukaku rejoined Chelsea last week after the Blues agreed a fee in the region of £95.7million. He is now the most expensive player in the Premier League history, overtaking Man United’s Paul Pogba.
The Belgian suffered an unsuccessful spell at the Stamford Bridge following his arrival from Anderlecht in 2011.
However, after rediscovering his form, Lukaku had stint with Everton and Manchester United in the Premier League.
And in 2019, he left United to join Inter Milan where he played a key role as Milan won their first Serie A title over a decade.
With the recent financial crisis, Inter Milan had no option than to sell one of their most prized assets this summer.
Lukaku was officially confirmed as a Chelsea player last week. The 28-year-old will pickup the Abraham’s Jersey at the Bridge.
“Yes, I have the No 9 shirt,” said Lukaku. “I’m very happy and very fortunate to be in the situation.
The Blues are eager to conquer the Premier League, and the signing of Romelu Lukaku proves a statement of intent.
The Belgium international will pick up the No.9 shirt following the sale of Tammy Abraham to Serie A side AS Roma.
