Paris Saint-Germain new signing Sergio Ramos would welcomed the chance of playing with Lionel Messi after he revealed “Messi will always have a role in his team,” adding to speculations of the Argentine leaving Barcelona.
The veteran defender played against the Barcelona icon on several occasions during his time in Spain, but has disclosed his desire of playing with the forward.
Ramos is taking a new challenge in France after seeing out his contract with Real Madrid last summer, and just like the Spanish International, Lionel Messi is also currently out of contract.
Messi has been tipped to depart Barcelona this season, with a big money move to Paris Saint-Germain or Manchester City much anticipated by many football fanatics.
And with the speculations surrounding his future, Ramos admitted he is a big fan of the 34-year-old amid PSG link.
Speaking to TNT Sports, the 35-year-old said: “I like to play with the best players and Messi has been one of the best in the world.
“I have always said that Messi will always have a role in my Team.”
Despite relishing the opportunity of playing with Lionel Messi, Sergio is set to unite with old rival Neymar in Paris after the pair rocked shoulders in the La Liga.
Now a club colleague with the Brazil star, Ramos claims they already boast of a strong relationship.
“Despite the fact that he was at Barcelona and I was at Madrid, I have a very good relationship with him. In those years of rivalry we formed a relationship and he has been sending me messages encouraging me to come to PSG.
“It is always appreciated that the stars encourage you to come.”
Paris Saint-Germain is looking to boast it squad in-depth for the upcoming season with Champions League success all on the table to achieve.
