Andreas Pirlo and Cristiano Ronaldo going nowhere according to Pavel Nedved
Juventus Vice President Pavel Nedved has revealed club’s head coach Andrea Pirlo and Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will remain with the club despite wide spread rumors that the pair will leave at end of the season.
Cristiano Ronaldo was heavily criticized after another early disappointing Champions League exit for the Serie A Champions earlier this month.
While Pirlo who was surprisingly named as Mauricio Sarri’s successor in August has also failed to live up to expectations.
Juventus quest for a tenth successive Scudetto is even in jeopardy following a 1-0 loss to struggling Benevento with the Old Lady’s now 10 points adrift off League leaders Inter Milan who occupy the top spot with 65 points from 27 games.
However, despite everything Juventus Vice president has rally behind the pair making it emphatically clear that the duo will still be in Turin come next season.
“Andreas [Pirlo] is and will be the coach of Juventus, that is 100 percent certain. We committed a project with him, knowing that there would be difficulties. We wanted to do better than this and haven’t managed to, but challenges were predicted.”
“We are very calm on the path that we wanted, which we still remain firm on. He [Pirlo] has everything to become a great coach.”
In addition, Nedved was adamant Cristiano Ronaldo will not leave the club as reports suggest he will rejoin Real Madrid at the end of the season.
“For me Ronaldo can’t be touched, he has a deal until June 30, 2022 and he will stay. We will see what happens after that.”
