Parents approves to allow Inaki and Nico Williams to play for Ghana

GFA reportedly have started documents that will allow Nico and Inaki Williams to play for the Black Stars

Ghana Football Association according to reports are preparing documents that will see Spanish duo Inaki and Nico Williams switch allegiance to play for Ghana.

The Ghanaian FA is on a chase for Ghanaian players based in abroad in a bid to strengthen it squad ahead of the world cup.

As a result, Athletic Bilbao pair Inaki and Nico Williams who are of Ghanaian origin are not exempted.

Inaki Williams senior brother of Nico, recently fuelled speculations of playing for the Black Stars after liking a post of Ghana’s qualification to the world cup on Twitter.

According to reports by Kumasi based Kessben FM, as reported by Ghanaweb.com;

GFA has started the documentation process after parents of Inaki and Nico Williams gave the green light for their children to switch allegiance from Spain and play for Ghana Black Stars.

Further news also indicated that Ghana Football Association indeed commented when Kessben FM contacted them on the reports.

Inaki Williams has just one outing with the Spanish national team, while his brother Nico is yet to make a senior appearance for Spain after representing them at all juvenile levels.

With news that their parents have finally agreed both Inaki and Nico Williams can play for Ghana Black Stars in the Qatar 2022 world cup.
