Odion Ighalo grabbed first Manchester United goal in a win over Club Brugge in the Europe League

Manchester United new signing Odion Ighalo bagged his first goal for the club in their 5-0 victory over Club Brugge in the Europa League, after opening his account for the club, Ighalo paid a touchy tribute to late sister who passed away in December.

Ighalo joined Manchester United from China last month. The Nigeria has confirmed he is a staunch fan of the club [Manchester United] after signing. The 30-year old scored his first goal for Man United in the win over Club Brugge and dedicated his goal to late sister by showing a picture of her in a T-Shirt.

In an interview, Ighalo spoke about the passing away of his sister and how he would dedicate his first United goal to her.

“I feel very emotional because it has not really struck me that my sister is gone forever and I am never going to see her again,” he said. “Sometimes when I am alone and I just remember her, I have one sharp pain in my heart.”– Ighalo added.

Ighalo continued – “My twin sister, Akhere, will call me, crying, saying she misses her and, sometimes when I am alone, I cry too. It is a very painful loss but I am trying to be strong as a man.”

Next up for Ighalo and Man United is a trip to the Goodison Park to face Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.
