Neymar now sit second in Brazil’s all-time leading top scorers

Paris Saint-Germain starmanĀ Neymar dos SantosĀ is closing in to become Brazil’s all-time leading goal scorer.

Neymar moved passed Ronaldo to occupy the second place in Brazil’s all-time leading top-scores on Tuesday after he scored a hat-trick in the Selecao’s 4-2 victory over Peru in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The 26-year-old, who made his debut for the national team in 2010, now sit second, 13 goals behind Brazil legend and all-time top scorer Pele, who scored 77 goals for the South American giants during his playing days.

Following the game Brazil head coach Tite was reluctant to compare the PSG star to Brazil great Ronaldo, saying Neymar is unpredictable.

“What I can say is Neymar has this unpredictability. He is the bow and arrow, he is a player who both makes and takes chances, and get better and better and more mature.” – Brazil manager Tite on Neymar.

Where does Neymar rank among Brazil’s great?
