Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller reveals secret to Germany’s success over the years
Thomas Muller has disclosed secret to Germany national team success over the years after revealing they are taught at early stage to play as a team and not to shine alone.
Germany are a major force to recon with when it comes to world football, producing great players along their way to success.
The DFB Eleven have produce great players to the game including the likes of Lukas Podolski, Micheal Ballack, Gerd Muller among other great players, however none of them won the Ballon d’Or.
And even though German players cannot boost of Ballon d’Or, their collective team play has ensured success for the team as a whole over the years.
Thomas Muller believes the treatment at early age to play as a team and not to focus on individual accolade has greatly contributed to the success of the national team.
“In Germany, we don’t believe in superstars. We are taught from an early Age to play as a team and not to shine alone. That is why you won’t see many German players winning a Ballon d’Or, but that is also why you can see 4 stars on our Jersey.”
The Germans have won four World Cup trophies (1954, 1974, 1990 and 2014), three European Championship titles (1972, 1980 and 1996) and the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.
