Manchester United can lure Pau Torres to the Premier League should they trigger his £60m release clause
Spanish side Villarreal have slashed a £60 million release clause on defender Pau Torres.
Born 16 January 1997 Pau Torres is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for La Liga club Villarreal and the Spain national team.
Pau started his playing career with the Villarreal youth side in 2002. A brilliant as he is, he rose through the ranks and made his first appearance for the first team in 2017.
With much competition, the young defender was sent on loan to Malaga in 2018, where he spent one year.
Following a successful loan switch and with much experience under his belt, Pau Torres returned to Villarreal.
Upon his return the Spanish international established himself as one of the finest center-backs in La Liga.
His timely intervention, ability to read games and passing abilities among other qualities has made him standout.
This has attracted some big giant in Europe to secure his services.
The defender since last summer has been on the list of some top club’s. However, his price tag pushed all of them away.
With the transfer market set to open, Pau Torres buyout clause will become valid. It is believed his price tag is around £60 million.
Manchester United and City all remain keen to lure the Villarreal center-back into the Premier League.
