The Belgian lambast the Red Devils after revealing ‘Inter Milan pulled him out of sh*t’
Romelu Lukaku has hit back at Man United after making a successful comeback to the Stamford bridge.
The Belgian who spent two seasons at Old Trafford fires his former employers. Lukaku was never fully appreciated at Old Trafford.
And in 2019, he joined Inter in the Serie A, a place he termed as his home following a move away from United.
In Italy, he established himself as a top striker, playing a key role as Inter won their first Scudetto over a decade.
Two productive campaigns in the Serie A, netting 64 times in 95 outings, Tuchel’s side were much convinced the Belgian is now of age and worth another shot.
Inter Milan were reluctant to allow their prized assets depart the San Siro after turning down three bids from Chelsea.
However, with his heart set for another spell in England, Lukaku forced the Serie A champion to accept Chelsea’s £98 million offer.
In an interview with HLN, Lukaku said:
“With Chelsea’s third offer, I knew it was serious and I wasn’t there anymore.
“Chelsea offered €110m plus [Davide] Zappacosta, but Inter said no, so I went to [Simone] Inzaghi’s office asking to find an agreement.
“I was still at Inter, but my head was already in London.”
Speaking of Man United, he added, “Inter pulled me out of sh*t, I would have only left the Nerazzurri for Chelsea.”
