More trophies at Liverpool as German tactician signs new contract

After restoring the club’s fortunes by winning significant trophies, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has extended his stay until the summer of 2026.

The German was appointed Liverpool’s manager in October 2015 after a brief sabbatical following seven years of service at Borussia Dortmund.

Having led the club to one Champions League triumph, a first-ever FIFA Club World Cup success and the end of a 30-year wait to be crowned title winners, Klopp has been awarded with a new contract.

Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group have been delighted with the work done by Klopp and were keen for him to stay.

Assistant managers Pep Lijnders and Peter Krawietz have also penned similar deals as the Reds’ coaching team prepare for another four years at the club.

What did Jurgen Klopp said after extending his contract with Liverpool?

“When the owners brought the possibility to renew to me, I asked myself: do I have the energy ro give of myself again what this amazing place requires from me?

“I didn’t need too long to answer. The answer was very simple… I’m in love with here and I feel fine,” Klopp added.
