The Paris Saint-Germain new man is set to make his first appearance on August, 29, according to head coach
Paris Saint-Germain head coach Mauricio Pochettino has revealed new signing Lionel Messi will make his official debut for PSG on August, 29.
Messi, (34) who joined the Ligue-1 giant earlier this month is set to mark his first ever senior appearance in a different jersey when PSG play Remis next week.
The Argentine was close to signing a new contract at Barcelona but financial restrictions imposed on the club by La Liga ended the contract.
After an illustrious career at the Camp Nou, the forward will for the first time in his career wear a different shirt.
With fans eager to see him in action, Pochettino has confirmed Messi will start his PSG adventure when his side face Remis.
“It’s been a very good week for Leo [Messi],” Pochettino told ESPN Argentina, after his side’s 4-2 win over Brest on Friday.
“Next week will be a long one, but if all goes well, we hope he can be in the squad and start at a competitive level [against Reims].”
The 34-year-old signed an initial two-year deal at the Parc des Princes with an option for another year.
It is believed the Argentine will pocket around €35 million including add ons.
