“My position was clear, I wanted to leave,” Mbappe admit he requested to depart from the Parc des Princes
Wantaway forward Kylian Mbappe confirms he wanted to leave PSG in July following Real Madrid interest.
The France international has openly admitted he requested for a transfer admitting his position was clear, and he wanted to leave Paris Saint-Germain.
The France international who joined the Ligue-1 giant in 2017 from Monaco has been heavily linked with a move to Spain.
Real Madrid tried luring the World Cup winner, but PSG stood firm, rejecting two bids from the Los Blancos.
Mbappe is a staunch fan of the La Liga giant, and playing for Real Madrid is his biggest dream, with the aim emulating icon Ronaldo.
Currently in the final year of his contract, he can sign a pre-contact in January with Madrid.
The Frenchman has rejected multiple number of contract renewals from PSG according to reports.
Just days after fellow international teammate, Benzema revealed he would join Real Madrid, the PSG star has fueled those rumors.
In an interview, Mbappe admitted he wanted to leave the club in July. However, he denied claims of him rejecting seven contract offers from PSG.
“I asked to leave in July, yes – but it’s not true that I have turned down 7 contract extension proposals. Paris Saint-Germain have given me a lot. I have always been happy in the four years I spent here, and I still am.
“Personally, I didn’t really appreciate Paris Saint-Germain saying ‘He is asking to leave in the last week of August, because that is wrong. it made me feel like a thief. I informed them early, at the end of July.
“It is scary when your president says ‘Kylian will never leave for free’. When I heard that, I swallowed hard, and I said to myself but what’s going to happen now?’, I thought.
During his stay in Paris, Mbappe has netted 136 times in 182 games.
