Ikay Gundogan believes Chelsea’s Werner and Havert will discover their form in the PL
Manchester City and Germany midfielder Ikay Gundogan has backed his fellow Countrymen and Chelsea duo Kai Havert and Timo Werner to rediscover their form in the Premier League.
The Blues are yet to witness the best of the two German internationals since spending £142 million on the Bundesliga pair in the summer transfer window.
Discussing Manchester City‘s trip to the Stamford Bridge, Gundogan said to Sky Sports, saying his fellow international mate at Chelsea needs time to adapt to the Premier League.
“In general, I think it is not easy to adapt quickly to the Premier League especially if you come from a different country and now with the situation going on, I think it is just even hard” – Gundogan said.
“So I think it is quite normal they are struggling a bit, however, they both have incredible talent, so I am sure they will prove themselves in the League.” He added.
Timo Werner was only second to Bayern Munich’s goal machine Robert Lewandowski in the Bundesliga last season, however, the 24-year-old has failed to replicate that form scoring just four goals since joining the Premier League.
Havert, 21 regarded as a promising talent during his sensational stint with Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, but the German has not been involved in any goal in any of his last nine League games for Chelsea, and has gone three straight months with an assists.
