Arsenal skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hint he is staying following their Community Shield victory over Liverpool

Aubameyang showed signs of him extending his contract with Arsenal following the clubs victory over Liverpool in the Community Shield.

Arsenal hosted Liverpool in the 2020 edition of the Community Shield at the Wembley Stadium, a competition that involves the winners of the Premier League and the winners of the English FA Cup.

The Community Shield normally seen as a curtain raiser or a season opener, and this year’s Champions are Arsenal. The Gunners won the trophy, beating Premier League holders Liverpool 5-4 on penalties after the tie remain 1-1 at the end of extra-time.

The Gunners broke the deadlock through star striker and skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 12th minutes, before Minamino Takumi levelled for Liverpool with about sixteen minutes of normal time remaining.

This result propels Arteta and Arsenal into good shape going into the 2020/21 season as the pair aims to challenge for more trophies following their reunion in December 2019.

Following the game Aubameyang revealed his future would be sorted out in the next few days.

“Yeah I know, we are going to see in these coming days. Today we take the trophy, that is it,” – Aubameyang told reporters.

“We are improving and there is still work to do but it is really happy and exciting times to be an Arsenal player.”
