Gabriel Jesus has disclosed he want to become a prolific striker like Manchester City’s all-time top scorer Sergio Aguero
Manchester City and Brazil forward Gabriel Jesus has revealed he wants to become a proper striker like outgoing striker Sergio Aguero.
Sergio Aguero City’s all-time top goal scorer is set to depart the former Premier League Champions camp at the end of the season, and Jesus has revealed he is ready to step up and learn from his idol.
Gabriel Jesus who turns 24 on Saturday has not fully lived up to expectations after a prominent start to his life at Manchester City scoring 13 goals in his first 19 games in the 2016/17 season.
And Jesus Man City only remaining number nine is ready to evolve into a more out-and-out striker like his teammate Aguero.
“I can learn a little bit from him[Sergio Aguero] but he’s more properly striker than me, he scored more than me,” Jesus told Sky Sports News.
“He goes to the pitch and he scores, he’s more striker than me, I can say that because I work with him every day and I play a lot with him.
“When we play together I score one, he scores two, I score two and he scores three. I think I’m going to learn a lot in these next years to become a proper striker who scores a lot.”
City are Keen to replace the Argentine forward with either Danny Ings or Borussia Dortmund’s rising star Erling Halaand.
