Cesc Fabregas believes former teammate Lionel Messi deserve a joyous ending career at Barcelona
Former Arsenal skipper and Spains playmaker Cesc Fabregas feels Barcelona star Lionel Messi deserves a happy ending at the Camp Nou.
The pair played together both at the youth and senior level at Barcelona and Fabregas has revealed he want a joyous ending for the Argentine at the club.
Lionel Messi arguably Barcelona’s best ever player has less than one month left on his current deal at the Camp Nou but is expected to commit his future to his boyhood club in the coming days.
And Fabregas, a close friend of the super star believes the club is on a right path in convincing the 35-year-old to remain, but however admitted his friend needs time to consider his very best decision of either departing or staying.
In an exclusive interview with Goal, the Spaniard who spent four seasons with Barcelona said: “I don’t know what Leo will do but I hope he stays at the club.
“It is a very personal decision and let’s see how he feels and we will see what happens. I would like to watch him play his football at Barca for many more years and be successful because he deserves it for what he has done at the club.”
The Barcelona starman is currently with the national team as they battle it out in the Copa America, looking to earn his first silverware with Argentina.
The 35-year-old has reportedly attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City who aim to reunite him with ex-Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium.
