Samuel Eto’o reveals it hurt him to see Jose Mourinho managing another Serie A side other than Inter Milan
Cameroon legend Samuel Eto’o has disclosed he was hurt to see Jose Mourinho join his former club rivals AS Roma after the Portuguese signed a three-year deal at the Stadio Olympico.
Jose Mourinho landed his new job in the closing stages of last season after his Tottenham adventure was cut short on April, 19.
The Portuguese signed a three-year contract at the Stadio Olympico stadium and is set to start his new life in Italy following his successful stint with Inter Milan.
Inter Milan were unstoppable during Mourinho’s wining two Serie A titles including the famous treble in 2010 during his four year spell in Italy.
And ahead of the 58-year-old imminent move to Roma, Indomitable Lions legend Eto’o has disclosed he is hurt to see his former club coach Jose Mourinho move to other Serie A club other than Inter Milan.
Speaking to AS, Eto’o said: “It hurt me, I am not going to lie, to see the one who gave me the chance to win titles in Italy to go to another [Italian] club.
“But I know that he is happy and our friendship is above everything. I would have liked to see Mourinho at Inter again. But I will always wish him luck at Roma. But he has to understand that no matter how much I love him, for me Inter will always come before.”
Samuel Eto’o is widely regarded as one of the best strikers after enjoying a successful stint at Barcelona and Inter Milan, winning three Champions League and some number of League titles.
