Arsenal were 3-0 winners over Eintracht Frankfurt
Last season’s Europa League runners up, Arsenal began their Europa League campaign with a win over Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany on Thursday night.
Manager, Unai Emery mixed youth and experienced players in the starting lineup. The Gunners had a quite difficult start to the match, but later gained momentum, as they took the lead through Willock deflected shot, after Saka had beaten off his marker with a fine skill to set Willock up, before the break.
Bukayo Saka continued to be a thorn-in-the-flesh for the German side, as he increasing became a treat. The 18-year-old night performance reward him with a goal in the 85th minutes before registering his second assists of the night by setting up Aubameyang for Arsenals third goal.
Eintracht Frankfurt coach Adi Hutter said after the game-“it’s a bitter defeat for us, because the performance does not reflect that result. When it was still 1-0 for Arsenal, we tried to score the equalizer but then conceded another one.”
“The important thing is for us to create chances. I have seen enough of these, a goal can help open some doors, give you a boost, but that did not happen today.”
The German based club will be hoping to bounce back in the competition as they look to achieve higher heights this season, after missing out on last season’s final; kissing to Chelsea in the semi-finals.
