The Belgian is keen to silence his doubters after a difficult start to his career in Spain
Former Chelsea Star Eden Hazard is keen to prove himself at Real Madrid after struggling in his first two years in Spain.
Hazard joined the Los Blancos in the summer of 2019 in a deal worth around €100 million.
Following a brilliant stint with the Blues between 2012 and 2019, the Belgian moved to the Spanish capital.
The 30-year-old was touted to fill out the space left at the Bernabue by Ronaldo.
The ex-Chelsea man was expected to quickly slot in at the Bernabue. But Hazard has failed to replicate the form that Madrid saw in him during his playing time in England.
His stay in Spain has been hammered with a string of injuries that has even limited his playing time for the Los Blancos.
During his two-year spell at the Santiago Bernabue, Hazard has played 46 times in all competitions, making just 14 appearances in the La Liga.
The Belgium International was linked with a move away from Real Madrid following Madrid’s pursuit of Kylian Mbappe and lack of playing time.
However, the 30-year-old stayed put and reveals he is now keen to prove himself in the Spanish capital.
“I signed with Real Madrid for five seasons. The first two have not been good, the injuries have not helped me, but I still have three more to prove my worth,” he said to HLN.
“I hope it works, I hope to get up one morning and feel great on the training ground. If I feel pain there, I drag it to the games and I will continue to have it. I am waiting for that moment when I can show my worth again.
“Real Madrid have already spent a lot of money on me. I want to give something back to them.”
