The ex Chelsea man jokingly said we wants to cry as Liverpool forward Salah continues to break his records
Ivorian striker Didier Drogba has revealed fellow African Mohammed Salah is destroying his records in the game.
Liverpool’s Mo Salah has been amazing since his switch to Merseyside. A feet which the former Premier League winner deems worrying.
Drogba a four-time Premier League holder with Chelsea contributed hugely during his time in the English top-flight.
He was one of the few Africans to have played a huge role in Chelsea’s success over the past years.
His achievement over the years earned him the accolade as the best African player to have played in England.
However, the recent spike in Mohammed Salah’s performance has brought some fear into the heart of the Ivorian, as the Liverpool man continues to chase his records.
Mohammed Salah rejoined the Premier League in 2017 for a club record fee of £36.9 million.
In his second stint in England, the Egyptian winger netted 32 goals in 36 League games in his debut season at Anfield.
In addition, he won the Premier League golden boot, breaking the Premier League scoring record for a 38-game season.
Salah recently overtook Drogba to become the highest scoring African in the Premier League (104 goals).
Drogba required 254 games to net his 104 goals, something achieved by the Reds’ forward in only 167 outings.
Again, the Egyptian is eleven strikes away from equaling Drogba’s record as the top African scorer in the Champions League.
Discussing the forward in an interview, the ex Chelsea striker revealed Mohammed Salah is destroying his records.
“If he [Mohammed Salah] continues, he is going to destroy all my records. I want to cry!”
Both were teammates in Salah’s brief spell with the Blues during the 2015/15 campaign.
The Liverpool forward made a blistering start at Anfield and has so far won the Premier League and Champions League title win the Reds.
