De Beek joins United teammates for his first training session at the club
Manchester United new summer signing Donny van de Beek has joined the club for the first time since penning a new deal at Old Trafford.
The club confirmed last week that it has reached an agreement with Ajax in principle for the permanent transfer of the 23-year-old to Manchester, after an agreement of £40m was reached.
On Wednesday, the Dutchman joined the Red Devils for the first time to engage in his first training session with his teammates, after his stint with the Dutch national team in the Nations League ended.
The 23-year-old is touted to be a hit at Old Trafford following his brilliant exploit with Ajax, with Ajax CEO Edwin Van der Sar releasing a statement sending a farewell message to the young man ahead of his new adventure in England.
De Beek enjoyed a huge career in the Eredivise after rising through the ranks at Ajax in 2015, helping the team clinch the Dutch Eredivise title, the 2017 Europa League final and the 2019 Champions League semi final stage.
He made 37 appearances for Ajax contributing 10 goals with 11 assists in last season before the Eredivise season was declared null and void amid the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
