Manchester United have reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the permanent transfer of defender Raphel Verane

Having already added Jadon Sancho to it squad Man United have agreed a fee in the region of £41 million for French defender Raphel Verane, subject to a medical.

The inclusion of Verane would be a further statement of intension from the Red Devils as they look to rock shoulders with city rival Man City for the Premier League crown.

United finished 12 points behind Champions Manchester City in last season’s Premier League, coupled with a disappointing defeat in the Europa League final to Villarreal.

Solskjaer is determined to boast his squad ahead of the 2021/22 campaign with the signing of Madrid defender Verane.

Raphel Verane has established himself as one of the finest center-backs on the planet having joined Real Madrid from Ligue-1 side Lens in 2011.

The 28-year-old is rumoured to have agreed a four-year deal at Old Trafford with an option for another year and is expected to be in England within the week to finalize the contract.

Having made over 350 appearances for the Galaticos, since his debut in 2011, Verane has won three La LIGA titles and four Champions League trophies.

At international level, he has 79 Caps for the France national team, and was part of that famous squad that won the 2018 FIFA World Cup trophy in Russia.

After opting to seek a new challenge elsewhere, Raphel Verane is set to link up with Manchester United following the Red Devils agreement with Madrid.
