Robben labels Cristiano Ronaldo as the best in the world after proving himself in England and Spain
Former Bayern Munich and Netherlands legend, Arjen Robben believe Juventus starman Cristiano Ronaldo is the best in the world after his heroics with Manchester United and Real Madrid.
According to the Dutchman, Ronaldo’s move to Italy is not about the Portuguese proving himself to be the best. Robben believes the former Real Madrid man has already proven himself as the best in the world following his success in England and Spain that won him five Ballon d’Or’s.
“Did Cristiano Ronaldo go to Italy to show what he is capable of? I don’t think so. He has already shown what he is worth in England and Spain. He has nothing more to prove now. Cristiano is already the best player in the world,” Robben said.
Ronaldo scored 118 goals in 292 appearances for Manchester United across his six-year spell in England. In Spain, Ronaldo scored a whooping 450 goals in 428 appearances for Real Madrid.
On July 10, 2018 Juventus pulled off a transfer coup when they signed Ronaldo from Madrid. In Italy Ronaldo became the first player to score 25 goals in a single Serie A season for the Old Lady’s, since Omar Sivori in 1960/61 season.
After spending almost three seasons in Italy, the Portuguese international rejoined Man United in the summer of 2021.
