Peter Bosz confirms Kai Havertz is unlikely to train with Bayer Leverkusen again
Kai Havertz has been on Chelsea’s radar all summer following his brilliant exploit with Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga.
The Blues have been in talks with the Bundesliga side over the past few weeks to strike a deal for the German international, who is Keen to join Lampard’s side as soon as possible.
Frank Lampard looks set to complete his seventh summer signing of the season with the addition of Havertz to Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr, Xavier Mbuyamba and former PSG skipper Thiago Silva before the 2020/21 season resumes.
Reports indicates the forward will join Chelsea in the next few days in a deal worth around £90m.
Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz when asked if he expect the 21-year-old to return to the club said: “Unfortunately our squad is not set yet. I do not expect Kevin Volland and Kai Havertz to train with us again.”
“It is possible more players will transfer. We definitely still have to add some players.”
The 21-year-old is currently on international duty with the German national team, as they prepare for their Nations League encounters with Spain and Switzerland this week.
The German has spent all his footballing career with Bayer Leverkusen, contributing 36 goals and 25 assists in 118 Bundesliga games for the club since making his debut in October, 2016.
