Chelsea announced on Wednesday afternoon that they have sign Ben Chilwell
Ben Chilwell has joined Chelsea from Leicester City in a deal worth around £50m, the club (Chelsea) confirmed on Wednesday afternoon.
The 23-year-old English international joins the Blues following a terrific performance with Leicester City. Chilwell has made over 120 appearances for Leicester City since his debut at age 18 in October, 2015.
Playing as a left-back, Chilwell likes to attack from the back, contributing assists and some occasional goals to his game, and equally adapting to his role as a defender.
Chilwell made about 33 appearances for Leicester City in the just ended season, scoring three goals as Rodger’s side finished fifth on the Premier League log.
Upon joining the Blues Chilwell said: “I am delighted to be joining Chelsea at this very exciting time for the club. I am looking to being part of this young, dynamic squad led by Lampard as we challenge for trophies next season. I can’t wait to get started and hopefully it won’t be long before we play in front of the Chelsea supporters at the Stamford Bridge.
Lampard aims to boost his squad ahead of the upcoming season after the club was banned from making any signings last season.
Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham welcomed the left-back to Stamford Bridge, tweeting ‘ welcome brother, what time house haunting?
Reports all indicates Brazil defender Thiago Silva is set to sign for Chelsea, after confirming his exit at PSG after the Champions League final loss to Bayern Munich.
Who and who do you believe Frank Lampard should bring on board as he begins to rebuild a resilient squad at the Stamford Bridge?
