Donny van de Beek will join Manchester United after Ajax and Man United struck a deal for the midfielder
Manchester United are set to complete their first summer signing of the season after reaching an agreement with Ajax.
Van de Beek (23) a product of Ajax academy, rising through the ranks to make his professional debut for the club in 2015 against Celtic in the Europa League.
The 23-year-old has made over 120 appearances for the Eredivisie side and was an integral member of that Ajax squad that lost to Manchester United in the 2017 Europa League final in Stockholm [Sweden].
The young Dutchman made about 34 appearances for Ajax in the 2019/20 season, scoring 14 and providing 7 assists in the process before COVID-19 pandemic made officials declared the season null and void.
Reports indicates the Red Devils will sign the Dutch midfielder on a five-year contract in a deal worth around €40m, with the player willing to play for the Old Trafford based club and is due for medicals in the coming few days according to De Telegraaf.
He won 2018/19 Eredivisie trophy with Ajax, the KNVB Cup in the 2018/19 season and the Johan Cruyff Shield in 2019.
