Arsenal have suffered a disappointing loss to Premier League new comers Brentford
Arsenal suffered a devastating Premier League loss of the 2021/22 campaign.
It a new season but same old story for Arsenal, as Arteta’s side started their season with a loss away from home.
It was the first time since 1947 for Brentford in the English top-flight league, and it was a memorable one for the Bees.
Brentford took the lead early in the 22nd minutes after Sergi Canos caught out Bernd Leno with a flashed effort to hand the host the lead.
The Gunners rallied briefly in the second half but couldn’t find the equalizer.
And with just 17 minutes to end proceedings, Arsenal’s hopes of clinching a point was shuttered after Christian Norgaard nodded to hand Brentford all three points.
Arsenal finished eight in last season’s Premier League campaign, managing 18 wins, 7 draws with 13 defeat in that process.
Arteta’s side next fixture is against London rivals and European Champions, Chelsea on Aug, 22 before a trip to Manchester City.
