The ex-Chelsea boss is willing to take up the mantle at Old Trafford when given the nod according to reports
Antonio Conte would accept Manchester United offer to replace under pressure manager Ole Gunner Solskjear. Reports emerging indicate the Italian would gladly embrace the job should United part ways with the Norwegian.
Solskjear is currently under pressure to deliver trophies in Manchester. The Norwegian was given the nod to replace then manager Jose Mourinho in 2018. During his tenure as the Red Devils boss, Solskjear is yet to guide Man United to a silverware. Currently in his third year, much is hugely expected from him this season.
And with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphel Verane all joining the club this summer, Solskjear is believed to have all the arsenals to deliver at Old Trafford.
However, following a disappointing start to the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League campaign, there has been growing reports that United could sack the Norwegian.
And in the wake of that news, former Blues manager, Antonio Conte has been tipped to replace the United legend should the Red Devils decide to relieve him off his duties at Old Trafford.
Conte according to report want a ‘winning project’, and the set of squad in Manchester would probably tempt the Italian to sign should the offer come.
The Bigger Picture
Manchester United are currently without a trophy since their success in the 2017 Europa League. This summer signings suggest United hierarchy are very much eager for a title and any result that pushes the club outside a title zone can trigger the sacking of current manager Solskjear.
However, with just five matches into the season, United are not under any pressure to sack Ole Gunner Solskjear, but they are very much focused and hugely expect him to bring trophies this campaign.
