Sergio Aguero reveals Premier League title winning strike against QPR is the biggest goal in his life
Manchester City’s striker Sergio Aguero has disclosed the goal against Queens Park Rangers is the greatest of his career, after it rounded off the Premier League for the Citizens.
Sergio Aguero has spend ten years in the Premier League, but believes his Premier League winning strike against QPR is the most important goal in his life.
The Argentine scored an injury-time winner in the last game of the 2011/12 season to hand Manchester City their first Premier League title, beating off competition from rivals Manchester United.
That dramatic closure to the 2011/12 campaign is remembered as one the most iconic moments in the history of the Premier League and is Aguero’s greatest goal.
Speaking to Sky Sports on the most important goal of his life Sergio Aguero said:
“I love all the goals but that goal [against QPR] is special.
“That goal for me is the most important of my life. All the time, I watch that game and my family too, and my son. I think that goal will be all the time in [my] head.
“When I touched [the ball] before the goal, I thought: ‘Ok, maybe it’s a penalty’, the centre-back touched but not strongly, just a little bit. Then I thought: ‘I just have to shoot’ and when I shoot, the decision is to always shoot at strong as possible to the first post and I had to be lucky. Then for two or three days, I didn’t believe it.”
Aguero is expected to depart Manchester City this summer after ten years, winning five Premier League crown and a possible Champions League title, when City host Chelsea on May 29.
